Booze + Friends = Joy

A bottle of LPR can bring so much happiness in so little time. A diet pepsi fulfilled HackSquats relative needs!

A great picture!

Boris Becker

Met ex world number 1 Boris Becker at the weekend and he really does live up to his status of Legend!
The former 6 time Grand Slam Champion and youngest ever Wimbledon Champion was so accommodating. He spent more than his fair time answering my questions............mostly to do with Beer and if anyone wants to know, he's a Heineken drinker. Boris was the first tennis player I ever watched. He bought a bit of character, a bit of masculinity, a bit of machismo to a sport that was increasingly becoming full of dull, over-paid pansies. In his later years I truly believe that tennis needed him, rather than him needing tennis. He was the last Great Character of Pro Tennis.
In this weird and wonderful age of celebrity, it's nice to know that their are still some class acts about. Cheers Boris!

What Car?

It's the end of the road for my beloved BMW 5 Series. It has been about 5 years since I've had ownership of this extraordinary motor. From her first voyage to her last, it desired adventure, it sought out controversy and on her first run, boy did she get it!

The story starts 2 days after my 21st Birthday. I was picking up a friend, Sam Farrell. Incidentally it was his was his Birthday the day before. We were on route to Kingston to visit my best friend, Dougie Hunter and to make acquaintance with his new born baby boy. I had taken the boys for a spin in my new car. The car was cutting through the light snow with ease. Braking with a halt on the icy, greasy roads of Hampton Court. As we all were celebrating, we stopped off for a few beers in our then local, Bar HAHA. The ever vigilant Dougie, noticed a very beautiful lady sitting all by herself. After we all had one too many beers (as per usual I might add), Sam suggested to chat her up. Like a Gladiator from the Roman Empire, oozing with confidence, the fearless Sam approached. Quicker than you can say Cesar, he arrived back a disappointing failure. After a quick chuckle I thought I would show him how it's done. Even before Sam could buy another round, I got sent back a bewildered mess. Dougie again chuckled, and chuckled and chuckled. Now it was his turn. To this day, I do not know how he did it but she actually graced her beautiful presence on our beer enriched table. I was happy for Dougie, although her presence cost me a bottle of wine!!!
Later that night after getting home in my very warm BMW, I receive a call from Dougie's wife. She was crying and very upset. She asked me where Doug was, she needed a little assistance in looking after their two day old baby........................He was shagging that very bird we met, I asked him why? He said 'I had to celebrate my newborn'..................Classic Doug!!!

That was my first adventure with my very beloved car. Whether it be style, comfort or speed, my 5 Series never failed. More importantly, it was a part of my adventures, it was a part of my life. With age I have changed, my adventures have changed and now my car, which was so central to my life, is to be changed. So what now, what car should I go for? I was thinking of a BMW 7 Series or a Range Rover? Please leave your comments.

Cheers, Big Nick
